Reminder that fat disabled people exist and have a sexuality.
Reminder that fat disabled people can be queer. They can be bi, pan, lesbian, gay, ace. They can be trans. They can be loud and provocative, or gentle and soft. Fat disabled people can be desired and can also desire. They can be saucy, and flirtatious. They can feel at home in their own bodies, and they can make love to themselves. Fat disabled people can be seductive, and surprising. They can attract men, or women, or any gender beyond, combined, or in between. They can enjoy what they look like in the mirror, or in risque clothes.
Fat disabled people can love the feel of their body pressed to another's, or be turned on when their partner writes a smutty text to them. They can be bold or inhibited, they can be coy. Fat disabled people can feel sexy when they move from their mobility devices to the bed. They can feel hot in their sex swings, and on their wedges, or using their canes. They can feel sexy when their partners fingers sink into the flesh of their thighs, and bellies, and buttocks. Fat disabled people can be kinky. They can be dominant, submissive, or switch.
Fat disabled people have the full spectrum of sexuality, because fat disabled people are human beings with agency over their bodies.
Health insurance is a mental health issue. I can’t help a client who can’t afford to see me.
Housing is a mental health issue. I can’t use therapy to help a client whose depression and anxiety come directly from sleeping in the streets.
Food insecurity is a mental health issue. I can’t help a client who isn’t taking their medication because their pills say “take with food” and they have nothing to eat.
Healthcare is a mental health issue. I can’t help a client whose “depression” is actually a thyroid condition they can’t afford to get treated.
Wages are a mental health issue. I can’t help a client whose anxiety comes from the fact that they are one missed shift away from not being able to make rent.
Child care is a mental health issue. I can’t help a client who works 80 hours per week to afford daycare, and doesn’t have the time or energy left to come see me.
Drug policing is a mental health issue. I can’t help a client who ended up in prison because they got caught self-medicating with illegal substances.
Police brutality is a mental health issue. I can’t help a client whose ‘anxiety’ is a very real and justified fear of ending up as a hashtag.
If you’re going to make a stand for improving mental health, you have to understand that addressing mental health goes way beyond hiring more therapists and talking about mental health on social media. If we’re really serious about tackling this mental health problem as a country, it means rolling up our sleeves and taking down the barriers that prevent people from getting the help they need - even if those people are different than us, lead different lives, and make choices we don’t agree with.
We aren’t “fixing” mental health unless we’re fixing it for everybody.
If you think about it, Shakespeare pioneered the genre of real-person fiction, paving the way for works such as Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton. Therefore, Shakespeare is directly responsible for Miku binder Thomas Jefferson. In this essay, I will

You can post drawings, fanfics, collages, songs - anything you want, but it must be centered around Carmilla.
You are encouraged to @ this blog in your posts, or tag with "dr carmilla appreciation week", and I will reblog your art here!
See you on July 10!!!
Hello everyone! As you know, Dr Carmilla Appreciation Week starts soon, and I have a small request for people participating in it.
Since it's currently Disability Pride Month, I would really appreciate if visual artists made image descriptions for their entries! Both Dr Carmilla and Maki Yamazaki are disabled, and disability is one of the prompts for the week, so I really want this event to be as accessible as possible for visually impaired people!
If you don't have the energy to write an ID, or you're not sure where to start, you can DM my main ( @thiscatisbisexual ) and I'll try to help you out!
So yes, it would be awesome if people could write image descriptions for their art, thank you!
